In the City for Good.

In the City for Change.

Christ Changes Everything.

Welcome to Christ Lutheran Church, Allentown!

WE are glad you are here.

Since 1903, Christ Lutheran Church has made a home at the corner of 13th & Hamilton Streets in the city of Allentown. At their 100-year anniversary, the congregation re-affirmed their commitment to remaining in our city. Now, over 20 years later, this commitment is not without its struggles and new lessons to be learned. As a community, we seek to understand the needs and challenges facing our neighborhood and how we can help others see and know Christ's presence in the midst of life.

As one of 278 Lutheran congregations in the Northeastern Pennsylvania Synod (NEPA), part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Christ Lutheran Church Allentown is a varied community of ages, cultures, and lifestyles involved in the life of our community, particularly central-west Allentown, McKinley elementary school and the arts and culture of our unique neighborhood. We strive to make a positive difference in the lives and future of children and families through our emphasis on literacy, music, and ministry outreach in our community.

As Lutherans, we believe:

  • God’s love is unconditionally guaranteed—a promise for life!

  • The Bible is God’s Word for us—our guide for living in the world today.

  • We are all both saints and sinners—imperfect, but forgiven.

  • The gospel is unchanging—God’s Word revealed in Jesus Christ.

  • The church is ever reforming—responding to a changing world.

  • We are called to minister in our daily lives—at work, at home, at play.
